Mankell's latest stand-alone novel to be published here has been translated by Steven T. Murray, and follows the success of "The Eye Of The Leopard" and "Depths", as well as the "Wallander" series, of course. Set in both Africa and Sweden at the end of the 19th century, it is a compelling story of a child driven to violence.
