IELTS Academic Writing guides readers in a step-by-step fashion from beginning to advanced levels of writing proficiency. The book starts with an introductory section on the basic Dos and Don'ts of the IELTS test. The remaining body of the book is divided into three sections for Task 1, Task 2, and Common Mistakes. In Task 1 section, readers learn about a variety of potential task 1 challenges including language for trends, comparison, pie-charts, tables, cause-effect, and stages. The section ends with a checklist, for IELTS candidates, of every major detail about writing a task 1 report. Task 2 section gives effective sample outlines of task 2 introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs. The book continues with cohesion, coherence, and unity as the main requirements of paragraph development when it comes to writing discursive essays. Like the previous section, Task 2 concludes with a practical checklist for candidates' attention. The final section presents 100 common mistakes candidates make at the sentence level.
