Annie Wood and the mystery of the birthday gift

Annie sat down and, tapping at the table nervously, was waiting for the prisoner. Julius Anonymous, a tall man of dark complexion and with black and grey hair, more or less in her father's age, was brought into the visiting room by the guard. He was surprised to find out that his visitor was a small girl, that he didn't know. They greeted each other and Annie explained who she was and why she wanted to see him.
