Marichka Vasylyshyn and Sylvain Claessens met in Japan, where they both came to study. She is a smart girl who grew up in Kyiv, in Rusanivka, surrounded by a loving family. Japanese studies struck a chord with her and became her vocation and future profession. The son of a Belgian professor of literature, he grows up in the shadow of his famous father and, when he wins a grant to study in Japan, goes there to finally live his own life and do what he loves. Feelings flare up between young people from different worlds. However, in Ukraine, Marichka has a fianc, a former paratrooper and future doctor Maxim Zoriy, who is not ready to let his beloved go so easily.
