Urban management and territorial organisation The case of Polish and Ukrainian big cities at the beginning of the 21st century

Polish and Ukrainian academic centers engaged in spatial and urban studies have been conducting scientific cooperation for many years - examples include contacts between Łódź and Lviv universities. Among the results of this cooperation is a series of three books dedicated to issues in urban development in Poland and Ukraine in the beginning of the 20th century.
The editors hope that this publication will be useful not only to academics and students, but also persons engaged in the practice of urban development in all post-comunist countries following the same as Poland and Ukraine path of transformation and accelerated adaptation of their socio-economic systems to the requiremens of the contemporary world.
