The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida is a historical fiction combined with magical realism by Lankan writer Shehan Karunatilaka. The work was first published in 2015 on the Indian subcontinent under the title Conversations with the Dead. Seven years later, the British publishing house Sort Of books released an edited version of the fantastic novel, which won the hearts of thousands of readers from all over the world.
